Dear HUROP Parents,
We are entering our final four months of this year’s Rites of Passage journey.
This is not the time to coast. This is the time to stretch and strive.
As we press toward the culmination, structure matters. Discipline matters. Presence matters.
Please read carefully:
SATURDAY – Prepared and Prompt
Arrive on time. Excellence does not arrive late.
Please bring:
• Verification that your son’s investment account has been opened
• A copy of your son’s most recent report card
• The word that was assigned to your family
• A copy of your Thank You Log (documentation of thank-you notes sent)
We are building habits of responsibility, gratitude, financial literacy, and academic accountability. These are not accessories — they are foundations.
When we say HUROP builds Character, Competence, Competitiveness, and Citizenship, this is what we mean.
SUNDAY – Attire and Alignment
Sunday requires presence and polish.
Your son must arrive:
• In full HUROP attire
• HUROP jacket
• HUROP bowtie
• HUROP shirt (the approved items provided)
Dress reflects discipline. Discipline reflects development.
We are shaping young men who understand presentation, posture, and preparation. The world will judge them before they hear them. We are teaching them to command both.
Parents,
We are unapologetically direct because the stakes are real. These final four months will determine how this cohort finishes.
Black boys do not accidentally become men. They are intentionally initiated.
Let us model punctuality. Let us reinforce preparation. Let us demand discipline with dignity.
We stretch now so they can stand later.
Grateful for your partnership as we alter trajectories together.
