HŪMAN RITES OF PASSAGE EXPERIENCE
The Thornhill Rites of Passage Foundation offers a thoughtfully curated and comprehensive curriculum to develop young men, starting in Grade 7. Our programming is impactful today and essential for their long-term success. Our mission is to empower young men to navigate unique cultural challenges — social, economic, and developmental — by building the Core4: Character, Competence, Competitiveness, and Citizenship to secure access to a future without limits.
HūMan Rites Of Passage Program™ (HūROP)
-
This program targets 7th–8th grade young men who participate in a 12-month experience that prepares them for manhood, including mentorship by an engaged network of successful male role models.
-
Through experiential sessions, the holistic program covers nine focus areas of development (physical, intellectual, economic, social, civic, cultural, global, intellectual, and moral) that aim to positively impact young men and the communities they will serve.
-
The experience culminates with the young men delivering a public speech in multiple languages, and the fathers decreeing a blessing over their son.
Applications are available now through April 11.

The HūMan Rites of Passage (HūROP) Leadership Continuum
The HuMan Rites of Passage Leadership Continuum supports HuROP alumni by providing a range of meaningful experiences, including peer mentoring, college preparedness, internships, career development, and personal growth. These opportunities guide alumni through their academic and professional journeys, helping them successfully transition from middle school to high school, high school to college, and eventually into their careers.
Alumni not only benefit from these experiences but also play a pivotal role in the program by welcoming each new cohort into the brotherhood. They take an active part in the culminating ceremony, marking this transition with a ceremonial exchange of a challenge coin, symbolizing unity, leadership, and the shared commitment to personal and collective success.

HūMan Leadership Institute™
The HuMan Leadership Institute™ (HLI) is designed to empower young men in grades 6-12 by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in life. Through four comprehensive sessions, HLI focuses on four key areas: Character, Competence, Competitiveness, and Citizenship. These sessions help boys build confidence, manage their finances, explore entrepreneurship, and understand their rights as citizens.
Collaborating with schools and community organizations, HLI aims to foster a sense of brotherhood among participants, transcending familial backgrounds, schools, and locations. This unique experience is designed to guide young men through middle school and beyond, preparing them for a successful future while promoting unity and shared purpose.
