Knowing Your Narrative February 21-22 Session Prep

Thornhill Rites of Passage Foundation Session Preparation
Objective:	The purpose of this session is to begin to explore each young man’s ancestral heritage as a part of defining their cultural identity.  They will leverage their ancestry and several exhibitions at the Harvey B. Gantt Museum.  The information gathered during this session will be used as the young men begin to work on their speech for their culminating ceremony.
Date/Time:	Saturday: February 21, 2026 @ 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm  (Please plan to arrive by 11:45 am)
Location:	Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture  551 S. Tryon Street  Charlotte, NC 28202 Parking Information: If you would like to walk your son in you may park at Levine Center of the Arts Parking garage.
Attire:	TROPF Navy Polo Shirt, Khaki pants, sneakers, TROPF hoodie
Materials:	TROPF Backpack, portfolio and water bottle should accompany young men for each session.
Assignment:	Knowing Your Narrative Complete DNA test and bring family history up to 3 generations Bring vision board with family tree completed (provided in September session) Bring copy of report card and investment account statement Progress on Thank You Notes and doubling investment will be checked
